Apex Type Foundry is an independent digital type foundry based in Paris (France) and run by Alex Chavot.
Alex is a French graphic & type designer with a practice focused on letter shapes and printed matter (books, catalogues, magazines, visual identities, posters, signage…), either for commercial or self‑initiated projects. His work has a distinctive conceptual approach to design resulting in clear, minimalistic, systematic and contemporary solutions. Since 2012, Alex has been relentlessly creating typographic tools for all kinds of graphic projects and various clients. As a trained and practicing graphic designer, he always puts type in the center of his work and frequently explores new shapes to push various projects further.
In 2020, with a growing catalogue of proficient typefaces in the hard drives, he decides to create Apex Type Foundry, humbly intended as a simple and straightforward platform for everybody to browse, test and purchase his fonts more easily. Apex aims to offer complete, high-quality fonts, informed by history but rigorously crafted for the contemporary needs. Alongside the retail catalogue, Apex also offer custom typefaces services and bespoke logotypes design for clients in need of tailor-made solutions.
Licenses
Because we want to keep it simple, all our licenses cover both print, web, apps and ePub uses. You only have to select a license according to the number of workstations, in the same premises, the font will be installed on.
SOLO → this license is exclusively intended for an independent person working alone. It allows the installation of the font file(s) on 1 desktop computer and 1 laptop only.
The following licenses are intended for companies or organizations. They vary according to the number of users (i.e. computers in the same workplace).
SMALL → allows the installation of the font file(s) on up to 5 computers in the same workplace.
MEDIUM → allows the installation of the font file(s) on up to 10 computers in the same workplace.
LARGE → allows the installation of the font file(s) on up to 50 computers in the same workplace.
Beyond 50 computers, please contact us.
We will propose a license according to your specific needs.
In short
After a one-time payment, our four licenses permit:
– the installation of our fonts on a specific number of computers.
– the installation of our fonts on web servers using the @font-face property in CSS.
– our fonts to be embedded in apps and ePubs.
No need for monthly or annual subscriptions: the licenses are without limitations in space, time or broadcast, the single fee allowing continued use within the limits of the licenses.
All fonts purchased are:
– optimized for professional graphic design applications.
– delivered in OpenType format (.otf) for Mac and PC desktop.
– delivered in Web Open Font Format (.woff and .woff2) supported by all major browsers.
You can download and test all our fonts for free before any purchase. By downloading any Trial Font you agree to the terms & conditions of the “Free Trial License” (for further details, please read our FAQ).
